Overpriced at the rrp, very good at 50% off. Good:- design, aesthetics, build quality, presentation- good noise isolation- very comfortablebad:- you pay a premium for the name- quality control issue- poor customer service- (designed in denmark,) made in chinai was looking for a replacement for my trusty 12+ years old pair of grado sr60 and my candidates were:- b&w p5 / p7- sennheiser hd 598 / hd 600 / hd 650i dismissed the p5 / p7 because they were quite uncomfortable to wear compared to the sennheisers. Hd 600s were great and hd650s even more so – natural, open, airy – the strings sounded real and the piano weighty. But, i really didn’t like the cables coming out from both earcups, and the looks, well, were too serious and somber. So i decided and was just about to purchase the hd598s – may be overly smooth for a sennheiser but who can say no to the beige / cream colour and real-wood inlay combo?. – when i saw the h6s (the blue world cup eidtion) going at less then 50% rrp, brand new, from an authorised dealeri rushed to the local dealer and tried them on – sound was on per with the 598s, but no where near as good as 600 / 650s; being a closed over the ear cans, the noise isolation was excellent despite the lack of anyform of noise cancellation. Nothing to complain on the fit / comfort front – in fact they were very comfortable so much so i might even start wearing them as ear muffs when it gets colder. What i didn’t realise when i saw the picutres of these cans is that the grey casing is actually plastic (abs?) but this doesn’t really bother me because everything fits so well and beautifully – leather feels, well leatherly, and smells nice, and the aluminium adjuster slides in and out drool-inducingly smoothly that i am worried someone with less will power may get addicted to the movement. . One slight niggle is that the plugs of the cable that came with the cans were not dead straight – not noticeable until you plug them in – then when you look at the angle the plug makes against the phone / player / headphone amp – you notice it doesn’t sit perpendicular to the surface. Actually, make that two niggles – the other being that the product is designed in denmark and made in china.
Very well built travel earphones. Robust and very high quality.

A lovely well made set of headphones. These i’d class as portable if you want some for home use there are better alternatives. There very light there comfortable nice ear pads they look great and aren’t to obtrusive. Quite a firm clamp force but not uncomfortable nice slim headband again comfortable. I bought these tan versions for less than £150 a great bargain at that price. I would not have bought for £270 but glad i got them know i have them. They have a nice clear sound a good all rounder. They are easy to drive good for your phone.
It’s a beautifully crafted item. So i’ll start by describing the type of music i listen to, older operatic recordings and recordings of organ music. I tried every adjustment possible to the bass and treble and just couldn’t make it work, the voices were just lost. It’s a beautifully crafted item, and looks and feels great, and i was sorry to have to return it.
Noise insulating on a recent trip last row in the. Noise insulating on a recent trip last row in the plane very impressive. Credit the overall design of the pressure of the band and pliable the ear cups. Details of voice and notes not noticed before.
