Ive had the very first solo hds which were brilliant and now own the new solo hds 2. Again stunning deep bass the new hds actually have 2 speakers in each can as i’ve read up. I never paid no £180 for them i did for my first ones but these new ones got them on black friday for £60.
Not great out of the box, but after 20 hours burn in. I have read a lot of negative reviews about these ‘beats’ headphones, and despite initial reservations i took the plunge and bought a pair. The packaging is sublime and the phones look and feel fantastic. However, when i first listened to them i was disappointed: the bass was just too overwhelming and the mids were rendered muddy and soupy as a result. This was most noticeable on rock music where the vocals and guitars sounded a little like they were underwater. My first thought was ‘oh no, i wonder if i can return them?’i have now been using them very regularly for a couple of weeks. They have ‘burnt in’ and the sound is much better – brilliant in fact. They have really ‘opened up’. The bass is still full, but not at all overwhelming. The mids now are clear and well defined with vocals and guitar solos singing out perfectly.
My first pair and absolutely love them. Next day delivery and safe packaging. My first pair and absolutely love them. Next day delivery and safe packaging. I’ve had them a year now and wouldn’t be without them. They may be pricy but you get quality for your money.

” years now and find the sound quality to be good but are uncomfortable to wear for longer periods because , My first pair and absolutely love them. Next day delivery and safe packaging, our son and he is very impressed and very happy.”
These headphones are great for all types of music. I listen to lots of different types of music; rap, hip hop, rock, pop, r&b, alternative, electronic, reggae and iv tried them with metal, country/ folk and punk, and you can hear every word clearly and the bass is good. They feel well made and feel very comfortable while wearing them even after a few hours. Adjustable head band so they will fit any head size, the cable is detachable so if your cable get damaged you buy another £20 cable rather than another £170 pair of headphones, you get a soft carrying case with them which is very well padded, the headphones fold up to make them easier to store eg. In a bag and they look great (i have the metallic blue pair). Some bad points are: they don’t really cancel outside noise and they do leak some sound. But other then that these are a great pair of headphones and i would recommend them to all music lovers. **2 month update**2 months and they are still going strong. I have been using almost everyday and they are still working fine.
Not deserving of the bad reputation. Having seen and heard pretty much much nothing but criticism for the beats brand and the solo hd especially, i still felt like i wanted a pair (clearly more money than sense). Sounds like a bad decision, but i couldn’t shake the few good reviews i’d also heard. This was the catalyst for me spending a ridiculous amount on headphones. Now, all of this talk of burn in. Some people say it’s rubbish, some say it works. All i can say is the sound seems to get better the more i use them. This could be that i’m getting used to them, or the encoding of the mp3s varies from album to album or whatever. All i know is the sound quality on my set of beats solo hds is the best i’ve heard from any speaker. Perhaps i just haven’t heard a really amazing speaker, or perhaps these ‘phones are actually really good.
I bought these for my husband – and he’s very happy with these. Sound quality and bass is excellent. I just didn’t realise that these are smaller in diameter than the usual ones i’ve seen others wear. The only issue i have with these is that you can hear your footsteps reverbarating through the earphones. It’s hard to explain, but it makes your foot steps sound really loud, but they do cut out all other external noises. Great for being on the underground.
