I think this is a great product that needs a bit more thought. I found it quite hard to slap it hard enough to chop, but maybe that is me.
Not bad once you get the knack of doing it right. Saw an ad for this in canada and thought it looked great. Got one and its not quite as amazing as the adverts showits great for chopping small amounts into fine pieces, like onions, tomatoes, chillis, mushrooms etc. For bigger or harder things you really have to hit the thing hard repeatedly. Overall for the price its not bad if you want quick uniform chopping.
- Slap those veggies in to pieces.
- OK BUT THATS ALL
- Not a single problem!!!
I only have the use of one arm so i have been on the look out for a good chopper for some time. I am surprised to see such bad reviews of this product but think i know why. First you’ll notice in the advert that when he places the onion under the chopper it is half an onion with the flat end facing up. If you place it up the other way it will jamrather cleverly when he does this he has left the skin on as he says there is no need to removed it. The only reason this is done is because it is incapable of cutting right through no matter how hard you hit itall this sounds very negative, but if you put the onion up the right way it will do a reasonable job. If your looking for something that chops an onion quickly all be it roughly, then i can recommend it. But for keen cooks out there i’d stick to a good sharp knife.
Comes with a few different attachments, but no instructions on how to use.
Sorry but for 5 sheets and after seing the slapchop infomercial on youtube with vince i had to buy thisto be entirely honest it’s not all that bad – i have done garlic, onions, carrots and nuts in it and it has pretty impressive results. I would say that if you are not of sporty/muscular build then don’t bother it does require some force and speed to slice things – if in doubt go for an electric one which will hold more quantity and be quicker (i’m happy having both, nice to not have to rely on the electric). Apart from that have fun slapping your troubles away all dayedit: had this a few months now and was slapping away the other day when it came a bit jammed. One of the blades had bent at the end – i managed to get it back in position with a pair of plyers. Still recommend it due to the infomercial, it could just be an item for the mantlepiece.
