Great laptop, super fast, runs all the latest games and software.
So i think this i7 laptop is ok. It seems fast, the battery life is good and the keyboard is reasonable. The size, well it has a big screen and yet isn’t too heavy. Feels reasonably robust and generally it should be very good for my basic needs. Well, the colours and look of the screen make this laptop feel very basic. The matt screen is very very matt and dull and there is no way to adjust the colours properly. It is possible to give a basic adjustment to the saturation, hue, brightness and contrast but none of these combinations seem to make any difference. If it were my tv, i’d have a choice of vivid, movie, game ect.
Excellent laptop would highly recommend. Here are the specifications for the ASUS VivoBook K501UX-FI277T 15:

- All the features you need including built-in speaker, built-in microphone, webcam and HDMI port
It’s a fantastic laptop would highly recommend. It’s super quick and boots in seconds, can play decent games on it like skyrim and fallout 3 as well as civ 5 all on super high settings and higher spec games on medium settings like fallout 4. Love the keyboard so nice to type on. Only problem i can think of is when you video call people the mic is placed near the air intake and when i was skyping my friend they said it sounded like a hurricane, i just use a head phones with a mic though which has solved this problem. Screen quality is amazing, super sharp and never any glare, i love that its 4k although my internet is to slow to load any 4k vids on youtube. Its so light weight and sleek the aluminium finish makes it feel very high quality and the keyboard and mouse pad also feel very high quality. The battery life is only ok can get 3hrs ish playing games or watching videos and a full charge. Overall i would say this is a fantastic laptop and is worth the money.
Gift to replace my dads 10 year old laptop – he loves it.
Reviews from purchasers :
- Boring looks but quick as a quick thing.
- good for the price
- I’ve never had a laptop like that before
Screen issues which hopefully get fixed. I purchased this item yesterday and after using this for 24 hours i am considering returning the item. The pros are that the machine is superfast, reasonably light and all the other positives that other reviewers mention. The cons: there is a bizarre flickering (like static on a really old television) which appears intermittently on the left half of my screen. Amazon is amazing and is sending out a replacement which hopefully solves the problem but i will find out shortly. There are some moderately annoying design flaws: 1) the case is metal and when i type, my watch (also metal band) makes an awful scratching noise. 2) the touch mousepad is hard to get used to. Since the whole pad is touch sensitive, whenever i try to click the right mouse button the mouse pointer moves and i then end up moving off of the item i want to right-click. So i need to click several times on the right button to get it to work. The fan goes on/off frequently and while its not super loud it is noticeable and slightly annoying (and ive read affects skype calls due to the location of the built in mic).
Excellent laptop with good spec and performance. I had 3 main criteria in my research for a new laptop which were an intel i5 processor, full hd screen and a solid state drive. At the top of the list was the asus k556uq model which ticked all the boxes for spec and competitive cost. The first thing you really notice when you power on is the speed it boots up, i thought it had been left in sleep mode it was that quick. It also completed the windows 10 creators update in less than an hour which, if you have ever experienced doing major windows updates, is seriously fast. The jump to a solid state drive is definitely recommended. The other noticeable thing to mention is how quiet the fan runs, the laptop seems to have been designed well internally as it has been running smoothly with no heat issues. It runs the quad hd video off my dash cam with ease and copes really well running multiple programs. I disagree with some reviewers that the laptop looks cheap and boring, i prefer the terms minimalist design and functionality. Whilst it is brown, the plastics have a nice brushed aluminium look finish and the general connectivity is good although it could have done with 1 or 2 more usb sockets.
