Bought this after using a friends and i am happy to say i will never go back to windows. Always said i would never have an apple. Bought this after using a friends and i am happy to say i will never go back to windows. Takes some time getting used to but once you get the hand of it, it is so much better. Use this for work and it is amazing. Battery is great, boot up takes seconds.
So much better than the latest models. I have owned and used many macs over the years and am very much a fan. I have 2 macbooks and 2 imacs. All have been great to set up and use from day 1. My previous macbook pro died after 9 faultless years, so i bought the latest model before buying this one. What a truly terrible ‘upgrade’ to the previous macbook pro generations it was. It refused to stay attached to the house wifi for more than a minute. Then it wouldn’t take my backup from a time machine disk. Then it wouldn’t finish initialising, saying it could go no further until it downloaded the latest itunes (which it couldn’t do due to internet access failure). Then i restarted it and got the dreaded ‘?’.

Great laptop, i was unsure as this is my first time owning a mac and can safely say that i made the right decision. I have a powerful windows desktop for gaming and bought this for work/design and haven’t been disappointed. Impressed by the build quality which feels solid and built to last, everything is fast and intuitive and i have yet to find fault with this beautiful machine.
Best laptop on the market to date. Shame about the brexit price rise, but this computer is worth every penny. I was a life long user of pc, but after getting this laptop for university, i don’t think i will be switching back. The retina screen is out of this world, and the trackpad is so natural to use, i now find using a mouse weird.
While apple have surely taken their sweet time updating this laptop, brexit has helped me (sorry) to get it at fantastic price. I bought it from a dealer called techshark whom i can also heartily recommend – if you think apple’s customer service is good, theirs is outstanding. I had a macbook air before and while it’s light and super portable, its screen is. A bit on the 1999 side of things. Rmbp fixes that problem offering one of the best screens i have seen in my entire life. And the haptic feedback trackpad has to be tried to believe it. Rumours say that the 2016/2017 update will only feature usb-c ports, which automatically makes me lose interest. I recommend grabbing this one instead, especially if you can get it cheap(ish) – apple premium is, as always, high but the quality of this machine makes it worth it. I am not an ipad/iphone person but i’ve owned about 8 laptops in my life and this one is the best, hands down. One minor criticism: jony ive loves to go for form over function, which means that the sharp edges are going to cut your wrists if you’re not careful. Maybe i’m typing on it wrong (copyright: steve jobs). But out of all apple laptops this would be my first choice in any circumstances. I have the most basic version, with 128 gb hard drive, but thanks to spotify and the new version of photos i haven’t ran out of space quite yet.
