AKG K141 MKII Professional Semi-Open, Can’t imagine better headphones for the money

Great product but a ton of leakage for semi-open headphones. A good deal of leakage compared to other semi-open headphones, they are just as loud standing upcoming to them a a totally-open up established, but for consolation and audio excellent and price tag you are not able to go improper. The closed again akgs could possibly be an selection if sound leakage is an situation but there might be some compromise in audio high quality (i presume,, i’ve not tried them). That stated, i have witnessed pictures / video of queen and john lennon working with the original model of these, semi-open, for vocal will take. So if fantastic enough for them, who cares about a little more around spill. Almost certainly not worthy of worrying too significantly about. Sounds great for monitoring electrical guitar and bass. For production might want to think about the akg reference, thoroughly-open up selection for flatter response. Expressing that these are a pretty flat reaction, very good pure sounding and obvious definition in between instruments and the seem is large and large. A terrific product and rapid supply.

I use my mp3 thoroughly, both when travelling and at dwelling. The k240s are not suitable for travelling as they are fairly massive and not really stylish, but for use at home they have confirmed to be an outstanding purchase. They are really comfy, significantly less leaky than i had been expecting, and sound wonderful. The advancement above my earlier headphones is ideal across the board. I experienced been on a regular basis using a selection of acceptable top quality earphones and headphones, and so this comment is centered upon facet-by-side comparisons with them. The most apparent variation is in the bass, which is firm and detailed, with a depth and resonance that gives an fast wow issue. Even so, as this is balanced and specific, it opens up the soundstage allowing for the depth of the mid-array and treble to glow by way of. Very well, although high high-quality recordings definitely do leap into daily life, large and listless recordings are exposed for what they are.

Really great a tad quiet with out a pre amp even so.

The only motive it is not five star is for the reason that it is a bit plasticy. Also the wire is a bit also extensive. Apart from that, wonderful headphones.

AKG K141 MKII Professional Semi-Open, On-Ear Studio Headphones : I am one of those annoying people who listen to music constantly. Be it around the house or on my commute to work. I go through headphones more than i do shoes. So i am very impressed that these headphones have lasted so long. It has been a year, and still going strong. They are comfortable, the sound quality is good (not the best, but very good) and they look quite cool too. I would recommend these to people who are sick of their headphones always breaking, like i was.

First time i have felt the need to review a. First time i have felt the need to review a product but holy moly. As someone who used to buy £30-£40 the step up in quality is insane. I was lucky enough to get these on a lightning deal as well. The only down side is that they have ruined all of my other headphones.

I really wanted to like these as akg make fantastic headphones. I had struggled with large headphones before, but the reviews kept saying how comfortable they were. My honest experience was: the sound was certainly very very flat and would be great for recording. But so flat the bass is just not really there?. I get the need for reference headphones as been recording professionally for decades. But i must be missing something?the deal breaker was the feel on my head. I’m 6ft 3 and though more comfortable than others, after 30 mins the back of my head and ears were just getting to hot and pressurised for comfort. My conclusion is that for some large cans will be fine but for others they just will be an ordeal. But i’m sure many will like them and hope i’m just in the minority.

When you are used to generic speakers. When you are used to generic speakers and headphones for general listening, these make a huge difference.

I really like that i can easily change the padding – either for personal preference or when they wear out.

Give a very balanced and uniformed sound of original intended audio. Although would be careful with high volume or continuous period of use.

Very comfortable with the extra velour earpads, even fits my big head. Bass is not hyped nor thin(i play bass via di and monitor on these sometimes) , these aren’t meant for music enjoyment, they are meant for mixing, the all important mid-range is nice and clear. Extra cable also comes in handy. International shipping was nice and fast.

These replaced my no-name cans which were slowly dying after two years of severe punishment. Audio quality is excellent: clear, crisp and generally friendly to the all-purpose generalist. Bass response is good and a lot of the fine detail is very clear. I’m sure that more specialised and expensive headphones do certain things better, but my k240s do everything well enough without totally bankrupting me. Most importantly they are comfortable for long sessions. Interchangeable straight and curly cables are an extremely convenient touch.

A very good pair of headphones for the price. A very good pair of headphones for the price, very comfortable and with a flat response. Two different types of cables included and two different types of pads (leather and tissue). Buy them if an accurate and flat response is what you’re looking for, don’t buy them if you’re looking for oversized basses.

Excellent with a couple of niggles. As they fit over ear rather than on makes wearing them for long periods very comfortable. The spare pair of pads is a nice touch. The only niggles are the headband is ‘sprung’ so it sits very firm on the top of your head which after a while becomes uncomfortable so i end up moving the band back and forth. The ear pads are wide and can become uncomfortable on warm days.

You would have to spend loads more to better these headphones. . I used to have a pair of akg k140 headphones but these were falling apart after many years of excellent service. I love the akg phones as they always produce a very naturally equalised sound but also able to deliver power. I avoided the obvious k141 as i play bass and mix music and sometimes the spill from the k140’s was really noticeable. I opted for the k240 mk ii and boy am i pleased. Far less spillage with the circum aural design and wow, what quality and clarity these produce. Live sound is natural, mp3 sounds good and original cd is brilliant. I am not dissapointed with these, in fact, even after just a few hours of use they have surpassed my expectations. You would have to purchase a serious pair of studio phones to beat these.

Great headphones for the price. I’m no audio engineer but the eq sounds flatter than anything i’ve listened to before (this is good for use with mixing). Personally, i found these really comfortable, the headband consistently adjusts well for a comfortable fit (however, there are some reviews that say otherwise – i have longer hair so perhaps that helps pad it out a bit). I will note that in prolonged use, my ears do get quite warm – though i think that would be the same with most over-ear headphones (i had the same problems in prolonged used with my sennheiser hd 201). The semi-openness makes a huge difference to closed-back style (again, comparing to my hd 201) – harshly panned sounds sound like they are coming from the extremes of the side of your head – and by nature the sound sounds more ‘open’, less collecting inside the middle of your head. Obviously of note, if you work in a somewhat noisy environment these are probably not the headphones to go for, you can still hear a somewhat decent amount from your surroundings, but i’d imagine a lot less than full-open back style headphones. The build quality feels sturdy enough, i have dropped them a few times and have never had to be concerned about them having any perceivable damage. If i remember correctly, it ships with two ear cups – one made of spongy material and the other made of leathery material. I’ve only tried the leathery one (i figured my ears would get to hot in the spongy ones) and have found them very comfortable.

Expensive ok quality rather uncomfotable. I purchase these from amazon an honest review is only fair. First off this set is well built i feel they are really good for mixing etc, i found them uncomfortable to be honest, my head is a medium build however they were rather tight apart from this i personally wouldn’t buy again.

Great product but a lot of leakage for semi-open headphones. A lot of leakage compared to other semi-open headphones, they are just as loud standing next to them a a fully-open set, but for comfort and sound quality and price you can’t go wrong. The closed back akgs might be an option if sound leakage is an issue but there might be some compromise in sound quality (i presume,, i’ve not tried them). That said, i’ve seen photographs / video of queen and john lennon using the original version of these, semi-open, for vocal takes. So if good enough for them, who cares about a little extra over spill. Probably not worth worrying too much about. Sounds great for monitoring electric guitar and bass. For production might want to consider the akg reference, fully-open option for flatter response. Saying that these are a pretty flat response, good natural sounding and clear definition between instruments and the sound is big and wide. A great product and fast delivery.
