That’s no good if your the first person of the day too. So far so good… its picked up specs. It gives notifications quicker than tomtom. I only know this as i brought the 6200. Waw gutted when i found out tomtom have removed the mobile hot spots and reported moblie areas. Only too be replaced by live. Reports on the day by users. That’s no good if your the first person of the day too report… so i got this device… with free lifetime updates it seems so far too good too be true….

This radar detector picks up all the speed camaras that my ‘old’ unsubscribed talex did, plus background information as well. Based on this, it’s just a matter of reliability and time alone that will tell if this is a satisfactory piece of kit. L intend buying one for my wife’s car.

Useful gadget which so far seems to do the job. . Seems to do what it says and fits easily. The bracket with suckers for windscreen mount doesn’t do the job reliably but one of the slightly sticky high friction pads does the job nicely and avoids sticking anything to the windscreen.

Aguri Skyway GPS/radar/laser Speed Trap Detector. : Fabulous machine buying 2 more for my other vehicles. Fabulous features and knows where the plods lurk before you do.

I was reluctant to buy this due to mixed reviews. It is a really smart bit of kit and as it states it’s ready to go straight out of the box. I’m 31 and often drive a 700 mile round trip to scotland and all over the uk and i wanted a little help to control my heavy foot. This is not a device that will allow you to drive at 100mph all over the place but the advanced warnings will keep you awear of your speed and hidden cameras. It picked up every camera on the m62, police hotspots, all the average yellow speed cams and it also logs your average speed, lots of kband beeps and the usual shop doors etc i have yet to find a police car with a radar gun. Very happy with the purchase . I was concerned with lack of colour screen but the menu is easy to use.

Easy to install and update, it also seems to be accurate and gives plenty of notice of approaching cameras and speed guns. My only criticism would be the sloping plastic front that makes the display panel impossible to read in bright sunlight. It is fortunate the audio alert is loud, i have to put my hand above the the device to read the display. I am having the additional 12 volt cable installed through the dashboard and connected to the ignition, which may end up costing more than the device.

I have always used the snooper brand products without issues, this includes radar/laser detectors, sat nav and currently using one of their dash cams to good effect. Aguri started by some ex directors of snooper when i believe snooper was bought by cobra products. I have had this unit hard wired into my car, all you need is included in the purchase price and you get free unlimited downloads for accident black spots etc. Ok the unit does not differentiate between speed cameras on your side of the road and the opposite side of the road but to me this is not an issue. I would rather be aware then unaware and at this price point the unit performs perfectly. With k band being used for automatic doors you will find the unit picks these up as this is the same frequency that most speed cameras work on also. So not really a false alarm as i guess it cant be helped, as the unit works on picking up the live k band meaning you know if the camera is live or not. Other units such as road angel only tell you the camera is there due to it being located on gps coordinates.

It works as described, was skeptical about the laser warnings until i had a spate on one journey home from work, i didnt see any speed traps but it made me very aware of my speed.Pity i didnt when i got flashed by one the new dreaded “smart camera’s” on the m25. . I didnt respond to that one because there is a gantry camera on the other side of the motorway. The one issue i know is the aguri will pick up speed cameras pointing the other way and even ones adjacent to a motorway.

Regularly used on all trips but seem to get false alerts from car park, (supermarket) regulated cameras. Warning voice is loud enough but the follow on description is not discernible from the engine noise.

Having used this device for a few weeks now i am happy to give an informed review. Previously a user of another speed camera alert system which you could say was ‘angelic’ i have been very impressed with the product. To date it has not missed a single fixed camera inc average specs. There is an occasional radar alert using the out of the box settings but it is quite amazing how few cameras are actually active (i found out that only 1 in 15 are live) so don’t expect this to go off all of the time. There are occasional alerts for sensors on traffic lights, the radar activated led signs at say crossroads and of course some automated doors – this is all good as i found it just increased awareness of surroundings. Using an imac – very easy to update although you should note that it does reset to factory settings when you update so any tweaks you’ve made are lost – one reason i knocked a star offthe alerts are incredibly clear – possibly the best i’ve heard on this type of device and the screen it also clear – but only when you can see it. That is the other pro – the curved screen reflects a lot of light in the day and in some cases you can’t see it. I have installed a self adhesive anti reflection strip which helps massively (see pics). So would i recommend – absolutelyhow could it be improved – directional alerts (it goes of for cameras on both side of the road), an anti reflective screen, memory of settings when updating and a rechargeable battery would be great.
