Acer Aspire E1-572 15, Very good laptop

Great value for specification. This laptop was everything i had hope for in a computer for this price, it was terrific value for spec.

So far so good, but windows 8 takes some time to get used to (at my age. Smart, fast and keys need only a light touch.

Acer great, windows 8 and other preloaded software awful. Had an acer laptop before and it has lasted me over 5 years and is still as fast as the day i bought it only its starting to get a bit tatty and new games demand more powerful processors etc so decided to upgrade. Laptop arrived and went through windows 8 setup process, heard a lot of negative feedback on windows 8 but i thought i would give it a chance as there was no other alternative anyway. It took a lot of getting used to and i don’t think microsoft did themselves any favours. What made it worse was while googling to try and solve all the problems i kept getting adware and virus alerts coming up which then sent me into a panic, not wanting to ruin a brand new laptop. Deleted all the pre installed crap which was causing the adware. . Still had a few problems with the anti virus program (i think it was mcafee) so uninstalled that and replaced with avg which removed the rest of the adware and trojans. I seen a comment on another review saying it was unfair to comment on the adware as its easily removed but it was time consuming and unnecessary also i think ‘why should i have to?’preload decent software and leave out the adware will leave users far happier and less stressed.

A powerful and very useful machine, with good graphics and plenty of processor speed. My daughter (for whom i bought it) loves it.

Brilliant, powerful laptop, have had it a while now, i love acer very good. I have had acer many times and never disappointed.

Acer Aspire E1-572 15.6-inch Laptop (Iron) – (Intel Core i7 1.8GHz, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, DVDSM DL, LAN, WLAN, Webcam, Integrated Graphics, Windows 8.1) : My last 2 laptops were top range dells that had a 5 year + life so it took me a lot of courage to change to acer. This acer was about a third of the price of the dell i was looking at buying at the same time. I have to say i wasn’t disappointed with my choice.Definitely good value for money, i have no complaints about the system, 2 years on and still pretty fast. Being able to show videos off my laptop straight to my smart tv with no cables is brilliant. However the plastic casing has cracked and bits off the corners came off round the charging plug after a few months so not the best for people who travel with it frequently through airports etc. Now when i insert the charge cable its a bit wobbly inside so i think soon this will give-in and break and i won’t be able to charge it at all. So after 2 years and 4 months i’m already looking for a replacement but due to the price i paid i think this is not so bad, especially as it has been used every day. After 2 years the battery charge is also not good but this is of course to be expected with any model.

The only let down was how flimsy it was. I thaught having a light laptop was a good idea. But its just me been made with light thin plastic.

A good basic machine which meets all my needs. I wanted faster start up and easy conversion from my older system. Although i got windows 8 which i hate, i have no complaints and got all i expected.

Laptop is great, easy to set up and so far have. Laptop is great, easy to set up and so far have had no problems with it, i have had it about a month now and have used it for gaming and watching movies. I havent even been able to push it to the limits by multi tasking (installing games, listening to music, copying files and on the web)i think this laptop was a great buy, i do not regret it at all.

Aim to have this home based and for family usage so not worried about the looks. Keyboard is a little clunky, keys close to together but thankfully have an external keyboard connected. Not a big fan of windows 8, not very intuitive at all so hopefully there is a feature to return to something a bit more user friendly and familiar – come on microsoft.

For the price i have to admit is quite good. Build quality is acceptable. Have been using this laptop now for a few months. For the price i have to admit is quite good. Build quality is acceptable, keyboard is tactile and good enough, laptop is not that heavy, speed is good and wifi connectivity is stable. Worse bit is the track pad, especially scrolling and two finger gestures are not responsive, and some times is as if the “right click” is locked so it highlights texts while i am moving the cursor. A nuisance but not a very common one. Best bit is, surprisingly, battery. Took it to the uni, put in on efficiency and turned the lights down a bit, after 5 hours of moderate office use, on wifi using light internet was still working without a problem and battery showed 50% ( the battery indicator is a bit unreliable some times admittedly but the thing was still working, so can not dispute that)so all in all a good buy, recomended.

After a few issues with the wireless adapter settings and driver and setings with the mousepad, this now works brilliantly. Great spec for the money and very nice looking. I have given it 4 stars as i don’t like the keyboard very much or mousepad. This for me isn’t a major issue as i tend to use a wireless keyboard and mouse when at home and it works well enough to use when i am out. I don’t like the keyboard as i feel you have to push the keys down quite firmly, and as i type quite quickly i regularly miss out letters. There is also no light on the caps lock or number lock buttons, which is a tad annoying but obviously not a major issue. Its got a lovely screen and feels very light. It also has a good baterry life. I would recommend this product but as feedback goes i would ask acer to invest a little more in the keyboard and mouse pad.
